The Sweet Inspirations (members Emily (Cissy) Houston, Estelle Brown (former member of The Gospel Wonders), Sylvia Shemwell and Myrna Smith (one time member of The Gospelaires)) This group sang backing vocals behind numerous artists including Nina Simone, Garnet Mimms, Aretha Franklin, Chuck Jackson, Maxine Brown and Dionne Warwick.
